@MSUDenverBSB: Yuran Secures Third Player of the Week Honor, Named National Hitter of the Week
DENVER -- MSU Denver Roadrunners senior outfielder Cam Yuran has now secured his third Player of the Week honor after his torrid weekend at the plate, and has been named the NCBWA D2 National Hitter of the Week. He won the conference, regional, and national Hitter of the Week.
Yuran is the sixth MSU Denver player to have been named the National Player or Pitcher of the Week by and organization and the first since Zach Schuler was the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association National Hitter of the Week last season.
Yuran had an unbelievable weekend at the plate, going 11-for-15 with 6 HR's, 13 RBIs, 15 runs, 5 walks, and 2 stolen bases. He belted two home runs on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The Denver native has reached base safely in his last 30 games and has raised his batting average to .426 on the year, which ranks second in the RMAC, only trailing teammate Andrew Graham who is hitting .465 on the season. He does lead the conference in four other statistical categories while also ranking inside the top-5 for others.
Yuran leads the RMAC in OBP (.582), OPS (1.556), runs (62), and walks (44). He also ranks 2nd in SLG (.974), 4th in RBIs (52), and 3rd in HR's (17).
