Hall of Fame Class Inducted in Spectacular Night Before Sold Out Crowd
DENVER – In a spectacular night that celebrated MSU Denver's storied basketball history, the Roadrunners Athletics Hall of Fame inducted an incredible cast of Saturday.
Former men's basketball stars Luke Kendall, Mitch McCarron and Mark Worthington, former men's coach Derrick Clark and the 2010-11 women's basketball regional championship were honored at a sold out event at the Tivoli Turnhalle that will not be forgotten.
Past players and coaches regaled a captivated crowd with stories of the glory days, with an inside look at behind-the-scenes anecdotes.
McCarron (2014-15) and Worthington (2004-05) are former Division II National Players of the Year. Kendall starred for the 2002 national championship team that included Worthington as a reserve, and McCarron led the Roadrunners to two trips to the national semifinals, including one title game.
Clark is a former national coach of the year.
The 2010-11 women's team went 30-3 in the best season in program history.
MSU Denver's next hall of fame class will be inducted on Sept. 28.
