This Week in Roadrunners Athletics
DENVER -- It's another action-filled week in MSU Denver Roadrunners Athletics with baseball, softball, and track and field all competing this weekend, with softball competing in the NCAA Regionals in Tyler, Texas and baseball will be in Grand Junction for the RMAC Championship Tournament.
BASEBALL
Wednesday, 5/7: #4 MSU Denver 15 vs. #3 CSU Pueblo 10 (FINAL)
Thursday, 5/8: MSU Denver vs Adams State/Regis (7 p.m. MT)
Friday, 5/9: MSU Denver vs TBD
Saturday, 5/10: MSU Denver vs TBD
Head coach Ryan Strain and his team most recently went 1-3 on the road against CMU this last weekend and are now 31-20 on the season with a 22-10 record in the RMAC. They beat CSU Pueblo earlier this afternoon in game one of the RMAC Tournament and will advance in the winner's bracket. They will either play Adams State or Regis tomorrow night at 7 p.m. MT.
The conference announced All-RMAC teams wednesday morning. Andrew Graham, Cam Yuran, Jesse Velders, and Erubiel Ortiz were all named first-team All-RMAC after their incredible 2025 seasons. Senior Easton Amundson and juniors Gavin Schmeh, and Nolan Livsey were all chosen to the All-RMAC second team. Schmeh and Ortiz were also named to the All-RMAC Gold Glove team.
SOFTBALL
Thursday, 5/8: #8 MSU Denver at #1 UT Tyler (1:30 p.m. MT)
Friday, 5/9: MSU Denver vs TBD
Saturday, 5/10: MSU Denver vs TBD
Annie Van Wetzinga and her team just concluded the RMAC Championship Tournament last weekend and went 2-2 with wins over Black Hills State and CSU Pueblo. They earned the final spot for the NCAA Regionals in the South Central Region and will take on the defending champions, UT-Tyler, Thursday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. MT. It will be double elimination.
TRACK AND FIELD
Saturday, 5/10: Loper Twilight
Head coach Janis Christopher and her squads will compete in the Loper Twilight meet on Saturday put on by the University of Nebraska-Kearney. It will be the last meet for a chance to qualify for NCAA's.
The men captured their best RMAC finish at the Championship meet since 2010 and tied their highest point total. Between the men's and women's sides, they broke four school records.
Sophomore Kenny Greene led the way for the Roadrunners in the RMAC Championships with a pair of second-place finishes. He found himself on the podium for the 200- and 400-meter races. Greene set personal bests and program records in both events, with a time of 20.68 in the 200 and a time of 46.89 in the 400.
