@MSUDenverBSB: Offense Explodes for 17 Runs in Win Over Adams State

ALAMOSA, Colo. --The MSU Denver Roadrunners put on a hitting clinic Friday afternoon, pouring in 17 runs during their 17-4 seven inning win over the Adams State Grizzlies.

ALAMOSA, Colo. --The MSU Denver Roadrunners put on a hitting clinic Friday afternoon, pouring in 17 runs during their 17-4 seven inning win over the Adams State Grizzlies. 

MSU Denver improves to 14-13 overall and 6-3 in RMAC play while Adams State falls to 11-20 overall and 7-6 in the RMAC. Head coach Ryan Strain and his sqaud have now won five in a row.

The Roadrunners have now scored at least nine or more runs in their last six games, and have scored 80 runs total in that span. 

Nolan Livsey got the nod in this one, and tossed a quality five innings, allowing four runs while striking out five on his way to a win. He improves to 5-1 on the season. Tyler Child threw the final two innings, allowing no runs and just one hit. 

Erubiel Ortiz led the way for the MSU Denver offense, going 4-for-5 with four runs and three RBIs. Ortiz plated the first runs of the game with a two-run shot to left center, bringing around Andrew Biddle for an early 2-0 lead.

Easton Amundson also had a huge day in the box, tallying three hits and five RBIs. Amundson hit his team-leading 14th big fly of the season in the third inning to put his team up 6-0. He also hit a two-RBI double the following inning. 

The Red and Blue belted four home runs on the day, with two coming from Jesse Velders. Velders went 2-for-4 with four runs, three RBIs, and a walk. He extends his hitting streak to nine games, and has reached base safely in 14 of his last 15 games.

MSU Denver will be back in action tomorrow against Adams State, where they will play a doubleheader starting at Noon MT, followed up with game two starting at approximately 2:30 p.m. MT.
