The Roadrunners are coming of a tough weekend where they fell to Western Colorado and Westminster at home. Laci Roffle scored a career-high 25 points against the Mountaineers, shooting five-of-six from the field. She also hit three-of-four from three-point range and went 12-for-12 from the free throw line. The next night Mikylah Espinosa racked up a game-high 21 points against the Griffins, while adding seven rebounds and four steals. Espinosa leads the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in steals per game. Head coach Tanya Haave will take the squad to Salt Lake City this weekend to battle the Nighthawks of Northwest Nazarene on Friday before playing the Falcons of Seattle Pacific on Saturday.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

MSU Denver at Nebraska-Kearney, Sunday, Noon

The Roadrunners went 2-0 this past weekend to improve to 9-1 overall with a 4-0 record in the conference play. They first defeated Western Colorado 81-64 at the Auraria Event Center last Thursday. Dan Ficke reached 100 career wins as a head coach after winning his 39th game with MSU Denver to go along with his 61 wins as Belmont Abbey. Also reaching a couple of milestones were both senior forwards Caleb McGill and Brayden Carter, who reached 1,000 career points in their collegiate playing careers. The next night, MSU Denver almost broke the three-point record after knocking down 16 of them in the 78-61 win over Westminster. The record is 17 that was accomplished in November of 2007. Logan Threatt led the way for the men's basketball, as the sophomore scored 19 points on 5-of-6 shooting from downtown. The Roadrunners will play non-conference opponents this weekend in Fort Hays State and Nebraska-Kearney.
