@MSUDenverMBB: MSU Denver Secures Overtime Victory at Regis
DENVER – The MSU Denver Roadrunners delivered a clutch performance in overtime to take down Regis 78-69 on Saturday afternoon. With the win, MSU Denver improved to 19-7 overall and 13-5 in RMAC play.
The game saw a competitive battle throughout, with Regis taking a 37-31 lead into halftime. However, the Roadrunners responded in the second half, outscoring Regis 33-27 to force overtime. MSU Denver dominated the extra period, holding Regis to just five points while scoring 14 to secure the win.
Brayden Carter led the charge for the Roadrunners with a stellar 24-point performance on 9-of-12 shooting, also adding eight rebounds. Logan Threatt provided a strong contribution with 22 points, six rebounds, and two steals, while Quave Propst-Allison chipped in with 11 points and eight rebounds. Caleb McGill added nine points, and Ryan Maslow contributed five.
Despite shooting only 27.3% from beyond the arc, MSU Denver made up for it with efficient scoring in the paint, outscoring Regis 42-28 down low. The Roadrunners also shot an impressive 51.7% from the field and 76.5% from the free-throw line.
On the defensive end, MSU Denver held Regis to just 34.4% shooting overall and a mere 24.0% from three-point range. Regis' leading scorer, Jalen Brown, finished with 20 points, while Jalen Page added 16.
With the win, MSU Denver strengthens its position in the RMAC standings as they look ahead to their next matchup on the road at CSU Pueblo on Thursday, February 27 at 7:30 p.m.
