@MSUDenverMBB: Roadrunners Sixth in Region Poll
INDIANAPOLIS – The MSU Denver men's basketball team is ranked No. 6 in the official NCAA Division II South Central Region rankings.
The region rankings are eventually used to determine seedings and at-large qualifiers for regional tournaments. In the South Central, the champions of the Rocky Mountain Athletic and Lone Star Conferences earn automatic trips to the regional, with six at-large invitations issued based on the regional ranking.
The Roadrunners are among three RMAC schools named in the rankings, with Colorado School of Mines taking the No. 1 spot and Regis taking the No. 8 spot. MSU Denver will finish its regular season schedule this weekend as they take on CSU Pueblo on Thursday, February 27 at 7:30 p.m. and Colorado Christian on Saturday, March 1 at 3 p.m. – both games will be played on the road.
The next region rankings are due for March 5. The final region rankings, unpublished, are reflected in the seedings for the NCAA Tournament when the field is announced on March 9.
