@MSUDenverMBB: Roadrunners Fall at CCU in Final Road Game of the Regular Season
LAKEWOOD - MSU Denver saw its regular season come to a frustrating end on Saturday, falling 61-49 to Colorado Christian. A slow start and offensive struggles plagued the Roadrunners as they were unable to mount a comeback despite a strong second-half push.
The Cougars set the tone early, taking a commanding 36-21 lead into halftime behind efficient shooting. MSU Denver fought back in the second half, outscoring Colorado Christian 28-25, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome.
Caleb McGill led the Roadrunners with 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting, while Logan Threatt added 10 points. Brayden Carter contributed nine points and a team-high eight rebounds. MSU Denver shot just 34% from the field and struggled from three-point range, hitting only 4-of-18 attempts (22.2%).
Colorado Christian's balanced attack was led by Promise Idiaru, who finished with 16 points and eight rebounds. Bradley Land and Schafer Reichart chipped in 11 and eight points, respectively. The Cougars controlled the boards, outrebounding MSU Denver 38-34, and capitalized on turnovers, scoring nine points off MSU Denver's 16 miscues.
Despite the loss, MSU Denver finishes the regular season with a strong 19-9 record and now turns its attention to the RMAC Tournament, where it will look to make a deep postseason run. The Roadrunners will host Black Hills State on Tuesday, March 4 at 6 p.m. at the Auraria Event Center.
