@MSUDenverMSOC: Five Roadrunners Earn All-RMAC Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced their 2024 All-RMAC Team and MSU Denver had five players earn honors after their great seasons.

COLORADO SPRINGS – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced their 2024 All-RMAC Team and MSU Denver had five players earn honors after their great seasons.
 
Junior midfielder Luke Bone, senior defender Nicco Schiappa and senior defender Jackson Vander Ven received All-RMAC second team honors, while sophomore midfielder Charlie Matsumoto and senior midfielder Noah Hannula earned honorable mention honors. 
 
Bone led the Roadrunners with 14 points scored, after netting four goals and assisting on six others. The junior played in all 19 games, racked up 1,200 minutes of action and had the game-winning goal against South Dakota Mines on the road. It is the first All-RMAC award for Bone. 
 
Schiappa started all 19 games, while finishing second on the team in minutes among position players. From the defender position, the senior scored three times, added an assist and finished with seven points. This is the first all-conference award for Schiappa in his four-year Roadrunners career. 
 
Vander Ven led all position players with 1,719 minutes, while adding two goals and one assist for five points. He helped the defense record seven shutouts on the season. This is the second all-conference award for Vander Ven, who also received All-RMAC second team honors in 2023.  
 
Matsumoto started in all 19 games in his first season with MSU Denver. The sophomore played 1,450 minutes, scored three goals and added an assist for seven points. He provided the game-winning goal in a 2-0 win over Colorado Mesa, their first over the Mavericks since 2015.
 
Hannula also started every game this season for the Roadrunners, playing in 1,500 minutes. He scored a goal and tallied an assist for three points on the season. This was the first all-conference award for Hannula in his five-year Roadrunners career.
