@MSUDenverMTEN: Roadrunners Edge Out Biola in Consolation Match

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- The MSU Denver Roadrunners men's tennis team took down the Biola Eagles by a score of 4-3 Friday afternoon in the Pacific West Tournament consolation game.

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- The MSU Denver Roadrunners men's tennis team took down the Biola Eagles by a score of 4-3 Friday afternoon in the Pacific West Tournament consolation game. 

With the win, they will play for fifth place in the tournament tomorrow against Fresno Pacific at 2 p.m. MT, which will be the final match in the program's history. 

The Roadrunners are now 11-13 on the season and 1-1 in the PacWest conference tournament. 

After losing two of the doubles matches to go down 1-0 early on, MSU Denver rallied together four wins in singles play to fight for another day. 

Lluc Limongi Ollers, Alejandro Jimenez, Marco Jalalian, and Maximo Lawlor were the four Roadrunners to win their singles matches. Three of those six went to a full three sets. 

Ollers and Lawlor were the two wins to finalize in just two sets. Ollers won 6-4, 6-3 over Monteverde Flores and Lawlor also won 6-4, 6-3 against Mateo Rivas. 

On court two, Jimenez dropped the first set 4-6, but would rally back winning the next two sets 6-2, 6-2. Jalalian battled in set one, winning 7-6 with a 7-4 tiebreaker. He would drop set two 1-6, but would close out the win with a 6-4 set over Patricio Larrea.
