@MSUDenverMTEN: Close Match Against Biola Goes in Favor of the Roadrunners
LA MIRADA, Calif. -- The MSU Denver Roadrunners took down Biola University in a thrilling 4-3 match Monday afternoon.
The Roadrunners improve to 9-9 on the season and 5-2 in PacWest conference play. Biola falls to 6-7 overall on the year.
The Eagles snatched the first point of the match, winning two of the three sets in doubles play. Alejandro Jimenez and Hector Cebrian Moral captured the one Roadrunners point, winning their match up 6-3 on court No. 3.
Jimenez (6-4, 6-1), Cebrian Moral (6-4, 6-2), Marco Jalalian (3-6, 6-2, 6-4), and Maximo Lawlor (7-5, 6-0) took care of their opponents in singles, en route to an MSU Denver 4-3 win. Every court went to a quick two sets with the exception of Jalalian, who battled Jules Zanarelli in three sets, clinching the game with a 6-4 third set. Jalalian has won six of his last seven singles matches.
