@MSUDenverMTEN: Roadrunners Come up Short Against Azusa Pacific
AZUSA, Calif. -- The MSU Denver Roadrunners dropped their match with the Azusa Pacific Cougars Tuesday afternoon by a score of 5-2.
MSU Denver moves to 9-10 overall on the year and 5-3 in PacWest play. Azusa Pacific improves to 13-3 overall on the season.
Alejandro Jimenez and Hector Cebrian Moral were the lone Roadrunners duos pair to have a lead, going up 5-3 on their opponents but couldn't capture the win before the Cougars took the other two courts.
Marco Jalalian continued his torrid run, winning another singles match (7-5, 7-5) despite his team not being able to come out on top. Cebrian Moral captured the other singles point for the Red and Blue, going a full three sets (6-7, 6-1, 1-0). The four wins from Azusa Pacific all went two sets.
UP NEXT
The team will head back to Colorado next week to close out the regular season against Colorado Mesa (two matches) and Colorado College. They will play Colorado Mesa Friday, April 4 at 2:30 p.m. MT in Grand Junction.
