This Week in Roadrunners Athletics
DENVER – The Indoor Track and Field Team and both basketball teams are in action this week!
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Colorado Christian vs MSU Denver, Thursday, 6:00 p.m.
UC-Colorado Springs vs MSU Denver, Saturday, 1:00 p.m.
Regis University vs MSU Denver, Tuesday, 6:00 p.m.
After going 1-1 on the road this past weekend, the Roadrunners are back home for three games in five days. They will first battle the Cougars from Colorado Christian on Thursday night. CCU is 1-5 in conference play and are looking for their first RMAC road win of the season. Saturday afternoon will feature a matchup with the Mountain Lions from UCCS. They are 3-3 in RMAC play and are hoping to stop a two-game skid. The Roadrunners will finish out the home series with Regis University, who are 4-2 in conference play after going 1-1 on the road this past weekend.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
Colorado Christian vs MSU Denver, Thursday, 8:00 p.m.
UC-Colorado Springs vs MSU Denver, Saturday, 3:00 p.m.
Regis University vs MSU Denver, Tuesday, 8:00 p.m.
After going 2-0 on the road against South Dakota Mines and Black Hills State, the national polls took notice and ranked them 17th in all of Division II. Just like the women's team, they'll play three games in five days. Their first opponent, Colorado Christian has an RMAC record of 3-3 on the season. On Saturday, MSU Denver will face off against UC-Colorado Springs, who are 4-2 in the conference. And they will finish up the home series with the Rangers from Regis, who are also 4-2.
INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD
Colorado Classic, Boulder, Colorado, Friday & Saturday
Both the men's and women's Indoor Track and Field teams will head north to Boulder to continue their season. Last week at the Potts Invite in Boulder, we saw Kenny Greene break the program record in the 400 meters, crossing the line in a time 48.01 seconds. We also saw the women's 400-meter record go down this past weekend. Naleia Sowell broke her own record in a time of 55.94 seconds. We only saw three Roadrunners compete last weekend, but head coach Janis Christopher is taking a majority of the team to compete in the Colorado Classic this upcoming Friday and Saturday.
