This Week in Roadrunners Athletics
DENVER – Men's basketball faces their toughest test of the season taking on the Colorado School of Mines on Thursday night.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
MSU Denver at Colorado School of Mines, Thursday, 5:30 p.m.
The Roadrunners have won three straight games and are tied for sixth in the RMAC standings with a 5-4 record. Junior guard Mikylah Espinosa won the RMAC's Offensive Player of the Week for her two game-winning shots over the weekend, while also scoring a season-high 33 points against UC-Colorado Springs. Head coach Tanya Haave and her squad will head to Golden to take on the Orediggers, who sit at 3-5 in the conference standings.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
MSU Denver at Colorado School of Mines, Thursday, 7:30 p.m.
The 11th-ranked Roadrunners went 2-1 over this past weekend, which included a loss to Regis University on Tuesday night. MSU Denver is still 8-1 in the RMAC and will face off against the top team in the region and in the conference in the Colorado School of Mines on Thursday night. Currently head coach Dan Ficke and his team are ranked second in the South Central Region and second in the RMAC behind the Orediggers, so it will be a huge battle on the road.
INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD
UCCS Invitational, Colorado Springs, Saturday, All Day
The Roadrunners are coming off a successful weekend in Boulder, which was featured by Kenny Greene, who broke the program record in the 200-meter dash. He crossed the line at 21.54 seconds and eclipsed the previous mark of 21.70. Head coach Janis Christopher will take the team to Colorado Springs for the UC-Colorado Invitational on Saturday.
WOMEN'S TENNIS
MSU Denver at Air Force, 5 p.m.
Head coach Bruno Campos will lead the Roadrunners in their first competition of 2025. The women's team will head to USAF Academy in Colorado Springs for an exhibition match. The squad is filled with eight upperclassmen and are led by senior Monica Guarin and juniors Hanna Haber and Kim Heddes.
