COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo – Junior guard Mikylah Espinosa was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.

The Thornton native helped the women's basketball team go 2-0 at home this weekend. Espinosa hit both game-winners against Colorado Christian (68-66) and UC-Colorado Springs (69-68) to help the squad improve to 4-4 in the RMAC.

Against the Cougars, Espinosa scored 17 points on 8-of-14 from the field, she grabbed five rebounds, dished out four assists and came away with six steals in the win last Thursday.

The junior took her scoring to another level on Saturday, racking up a season-high 33 points against the Mountain Lions. It was one short of her career-high when she hit 34 against the Colorado School of Mines last season. Also on Saturday she connected on 3-of-5 from downtown, she pulled down six rebounds and recorded five steals.

Espinosa is currently 10th in the conference in scoring averaging 14.7 points per game. She also leads the conference in steals (60) and in steals per game (3.8).

Espinosa won the RMAC's Defensive Player of the Week award earlier this season on Dec 12.

The Roadrunners will host Regis University on Tuesday night before heading to Golden to take on the Colorado School of Mines on Thursday night.
