SALT LAKE CITY – Despite getting great production from the bench, the Roadrunners gave up a season-high 92 points in a 92-74 loss to Seattle Pacific.

The loss drops MSU Denver to 2-10 on the season, while the Falcons improve to 6-9.

This was the second meeting between these two squads, with MSU Denver winning the match up back in Seattle on November 29. Junior Guard Ashlyn Yow hit a late three-pointer to give her team the win.

The Roadrunners bench scored 31 points, which included 12 points in 10 minutes for Laci Roffle, who hit on five-of-nine from the field while grabbing four rebounds.

Yow piled in 14 points for the Red and Blue, while dishing out a team-high seven assists and pulling down four boards.

MSU Denver took a quick 3-0 lead on a Mariana Silva Pereira three-point shot to start the scoring. The senior guard finished with seven points, four rebounds and two steals.

The Roadrunners were up 11-9 with 3:04 left to go in the first quarter, before the Falcons ran off a 14-4 run to finish the quarter with an eight-point advantage.

While MSU Denver was able to shoot 50 percent from the field for the game, they fell down by as many as 21 points and allowed Seattle Pacific to score 48 of their points in the paint.

The three-point shot never got going for the Roadrunners, who could only bury 5-of-17 from distance shooting 29 percent.

The women's basketball team will now pause its season for the holiday break and will be back in action on January 9th when they head back out on the road to Rapid City, South Dakota.
