PUEBLO, Colo. – MSU Denver's Neige Dunn fired a 1-over par 73, including 2-under on her final nine holes, to help MSU Denver to a fifth-place finish at the Proal Invitational women's golf tournament.
Dunn made a 13-stroke improvement over Monday's first round to match her career-best round and vaulted to a tie for 23rd individually at 15-over.
Mackenzie Carpenter shaved four strokes off her first-round result by shooting 4-over 76 and was the Roadrunners' highest finisher, tied for 16th at 12-over. Callie Burns shot a second straight 79 and tied for 19th at 14-over.
As a team, the Roadrunners were 12 strokes better than Monday's first round with a four-player team score of 21-over 309 to finish alone in fifth at 54-over 630. MSU Denver had been tied for fifth in the 11-team field after the opening 18 holes.
Tuesday's 309 was the fourth-best team score of the day.
Lauren Mack had an eagle 2 on the 255-yard, par-4 10th hole as part of her round of 9-over, and she finished tied for 27th individually at 17-over.
