@MSUDenverWGOLF: Four Senior Golfers to be Recognized on Sunday
DENVER -- MSU Denver will recognize four players from its women's golf team in a Senior Day ceremony on Sunday between games of an 11 a.m. softball doubleheader at the Assembly Athletic Complex.
Vaijayanti Bharkhada, Isabel Botero, Sydney Eye and Courtney Lawler are among the Roadrunners preparing to play in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship from April 21 through 23.
Lawler's career has been cut short due to injury, however she has been impactful while playing 28 career rounds in 12 tournaments and compiling a 84.9 career scoring average, including a career-best round of 76 during her final season of competition. She's a three-year representative to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and is a two-time member of the MSU Denver Athletic Director's Honor Roll. From Arvada, Colorado, it's Courtney Lawler.
Bharkhada is a two-year member of the program who has had a major impact and ranks third in program history with a career scoring average of 78.0 while posting seven top-10 finishes in 20 career tournaments. An All-RMAC first team selection last year, she's also been a past MSU Denver Student-Athlete of the Week.
Botero is a four-year member of the program who ranks sixth in program history with a career scoring average of 79.6 and has had four career top-10 finishes – including one second-place result – in 33 career tournaments. She had the second-best two-round tournament score of 3-under-par 141 in program history this past fall, and she has played 73 career rounds, the third-highest total in program history. An Academic All-District selection, she's also been a two-time D2ADA Academic Achievement Award winner, a two-time Academic All-RMAC honor roll selection and a six-time member of the MSU Denver Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
Eye is a five-year member of the program whose 85 career rounds are the most ever by an MSU Denver player, and she ranks seventh in program history with a career scoring average of 81.1, including a a career-best round of 1-under 71 earlier this season. She's a three-time D2ADA Academic Achievement Award winner, an Academic All-District honoree, an Academic All-RMAC first team selection, a two-time Academic All-RMAC honor roll choice, an All-RMAC second team player, a three-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative and an eight-time member of the MSU Denver Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
