DENVER – The RMAC women's soccer tournament headlines a full weekend of Roadrunners sports.
WOMEN'S SOCCER
No. 2 seed MSU Denver vs No. 7 seed Fort Lewis, RMAC Tournament Semifinals, Golden, 3:30 p.m.
The Roadrunners defeated Westminster 2-1 in the quarterfinals of the RMAC Tournament on Sunday. Nicole Thompson scored her first goal on the season, while All-RMAC goalkeeper Kylie Bach made four saves earning her 10th win. The win propelled the squad to the RMAC semifinals where they will take on the Skyhawks at the top-seeded site of the Colorado School of Mines in Golden. Fort Lewis defeated Regis 3-0 in the first round before upsetting No.2-seeded Colorado Mesa in penalty kicks in the quarterfinals. VOLLEYBALL
MSU Denver at Western Colorado, Friday, Gunnison, Colorado, 6 p.m.
MSU Denver at Fort Lewis, Saturday, Durango, Colorado, 2 p.m.
The fifth-ranked volleyball team came away with two wins this past weekend, defeating Regis University 3-2 at home, then going four sets with UC-Colorado Springs on the road. Senior outside hitter Riley Anderson smashed a career-high 25 kills in the 3-1 win over the Mountain Lions on Tuesday. The Roadrunners will finish out the regular season on the road taking on the Mountaineers from Western Colorado on Friday night, then will battle Fort Lewis on Saturday afternoon. MEN'S BASKETBALL
Texas A&M-Kingsville vs MSU Denver, Thursday, 7 p.m.
The Roadrunners tipped off their 2024-2025 season with two road victories in the Region Conference Challenge in Apline, Texas. New transfer Brayden Carter led the way on offense scoring 20 points in the 89-61 win over Sul Ross State. Junior Quave Propst-Allison matched a career-high 16 points and hit clutch free throws late for the 62-59 win over UT-Tyler. MSU Denver will compete in their home opener this Thursday, welcoming in the Javelinas from Texas A&M-Kingsville.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
MSU Denver vs Nebraska-Kearney, Friday, 2:30 p.m.
MSU Denver at Fort Hays State, Saturday, 4:00 p.m.
The women's basketball team also started their new season this past weekend, but did so at home hosting Angelo State and No. 2 Texas Woman's. While 10 different Roadrunners scored, just one reached double figures in the 59-41 loss to the Rambelles. MSU Denver then took on the national runners-up from one season ago and fell 61-51 to the Pioneers. The Roadrunners will next venture to Hays, Kansas to take on Nebraska-Kearney and Fort Hays State to continue their non-conference schedule.
