DENVER -- After a stellar four-game sweep over Black Hills State this past weekend, MSU Denver's Natalie Romero is named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's softball Pitcher of the Week.

The southern California native tossed 13 innings across two games while not allowing a single earned run. She struck out 12 batters and gave up just eight hits.

Romero went toe-to-toe with the RMAC's wins leader both games, Laci Peskey, who had a 14-2 record headed into the series with the Roadrunners. Romero threw a complete game in both outings on her way to two wins, improving to a 10-2 overall record and lowering her season ERA to 1.49, which ranks second in the conference.

The Roadrunners ace in the circle went six innings with four strikeouts while allowing three hits in game one of the series, which saw a 9-1 run-rule MSU Denver win. She went seven innings in game one on Sunday, giving up five hits and striking out eight on the way to a 3-0 shutout Roadrunners win.

UP NEXT
Natalie Romero and the rest of the team will look to continue their winning streak this weekend, when the RMAC leading Colorado Christian Cougars come to Denver beginning on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. MT.
