@MSUDenverSB: Geist and Berg Tabbed to D2CCA All-Region Teams
DENVER — MSU Denver Roadrunners Jaiden Geist and Miki Berg were named to the D2CCA South Central All-Region teams the Conference Commissioners Association announced Monday morning.
Geist was named to the first team as the only catcher and Berg was named to the second team as the lone second baseman.
Geist ended the campaign with nine home runs, 36 RBIs, and 38 runs. She came on strong late in the season and managed to claim the RMAC batting title with a .453 batting average. She ranked second in the conference in OBP (.538) and OPS (1.333), and third in slugging with a .795 clip.
Along with being a premier hitter in the RMAC, Geist was just as impressive for the Roadrunners behind the dish. She was named to the all-conference gold glove team, the only backstop in the RMAC. Geist had a .995 fielding percentage, which ranked seventh in the conference.
Berg made herself a known presence in the batter's box, ending the season as one of the RMAC's top power hitters. She ranked top-10 in the RMAC for slugging (.754), OPS (1.140), RBIs (47), and home runs (11). Berg carried a .346 batting average with 37 runs and 12 doubles, which tied teammate Alexia Boring for the team lead.
