@MSUDenverSB: Roadrunners Drop Close One in Extra Innings with UCCS

DENVER -- The MSU Denver Roadrunners lost 3-2 Friday afternoon in nine innings to UCCS, and are eliminated from the RMAC Championship Tournament.

DENVER -- The MSU Denver Roadrunners lost 3-2 Friday afternoon in nine innings to UCCS, and are eliminated from the RMAC Championship Tournament. 

The Roadrunners close out the week going 2-2 with wins over Black Hills State and CSU Pueblo. Both of their losses came in extra innings by one run. They will now wait to see if they get an at large bid for the NCAA tournament. 

MSU Denver mustered just five hits in the contest in what was a quick game for being as long as nine innings. 

Miki Berg registered the only multi-hit game, going 2-for-4. Aaliyah Arellano recorded the only run batted in for the Roadrunners, a single to left in the third to score Jaiden Geist

Geist and Hannah DiFabio each went 1-for-3 with a walk. 

Natalie Romero started the game for the Red and Blue, going three innings and allowing just two runs on four hits. 

Sam Mader was once again shutdown in relief for MSU Denver, pitching six innings allowing three hits and just one run. She pitched 11 innings in the last two days and allowed two runs total. 

The Roadrunners will wait and see if they qualified for the NCAA Regionals until the selection show that will take place Monday morning at 8 a.m. MT.
