DENVER — The MSU Denver Roadrunners completed their series with CSU Pueblo Saturday afternoon, splitting a doubleheader, but take the series 3-1 over the Thunder Wolves.

The Roadrunners are now 34-10 overall and 29-6 in RMAC play.

It was another masterful performance from Natalie Romero during Saturday's opener, going six innings while allowing just two earned runs. She is now 16-3 on the campaign.

Alexia Boring continued to give the opposition pitching a tough time, as she hit two homers with four RBIs, with one of them ending the game on a run rule.

Boring, Geist, and Medhus powered their way to a game one win with back-to-back-to-back homers in the fifth inning to pull away from the Thunder Wolves.

Medhus got the nod for game two, and went a quality four innings while only allowing two runs. Cheyenne Preito was credited with the loss for the Roadrunners but gave up just two earned runs.

Katie Maney and Boring recorded the only multi-hit games for MSU Denver, with Maney slapping two doubles and going 2-for-3 with a walk. Boring knocked in two of the three runs and went 2-for-3 also with a walk.

GAME ONE (MSU DENVER 11-3)
CSU Pueblo struck for the first run in the second inning on a bases-loaded hit by pitch to go up 1-0.

Adriana Bueno tied the game the next frame on a fielder's choice that scored Jenna Medhus. Miki Berg was thrown out at home on a Lexi Gephart base hit that ended the inning.

The Thunder Wolves went back out in front on a solo shot the next half inning. Back-to-back from DiFabio and doubles in the third from the Roadrunners made it a tie game once again. Jaden Geist put her team in the lead with a sac fly for a 3-2 advantage.

Clinging on to a one-run lead, the Roadrunners heart of the order went back-to-back-to-back home runs in the fifth inning with Alexia Boring, Geist, and Medhus, making it a 6-2 Roadrunners lead.

CSU Pueblo earned one run back in the sixth inning on a fielder's choice.

Gephart knocked in another Roadrunners run in the sixth on a single up the middle. Maney added another with an infield single. Boring ended the game with a three-run shot to center for an 11-3 Roadrunners win in six innings.

GAME TWO (CSU Pueblo 6-3)
Once again it was Alexia Boring for the Roadrunners, as she slapped an RBI single in the bottom half of the first for MSU Denver for a 1-0 lead. Mike Berg added another score, bringing Boring around for the second run.

Boring lined another hit up the middle for the Roadrunners third run go the game in the second frame.

CSU Pueblo grabbed two runs in the fourth to make it a one-run deficit. After a few costly MSU Denver errors, CSU Pueblo was able to capitalize and take 4-3 lead headed into the bottom of the fifth.

Thunder Wolves added one more run in the sixth with an RBI double off the wall.

The Roadrunners could not muster up any runs in the late innings and dropped the final game of the series by a score of 6-3.
