IRVINE, Calif. – Pairings for the Pacific West Conference tennis tournaments have been announced, with the MSU Denver men earning the No. 8 seed and the Roadrunners' women seeded No. 9.

The tournament will be held in Surprise, Ariz., with the 12-team women's field beginning play on Wednesday and the eight-team men's competition beginning Thursday.

MSU Denver's women will face eighth-seeded Dominican (Calif.) in the first round in a 9 a.m. MST dual on Wednesday, while the men square off with top-seeded Azusa Pacific (Calif.) on Thursday at 9 a.m. MST.

Each team must continue to win to stay alive for the championship, and the tournament winner earns an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament's West Regional.

The men will play Thursday, Friday and Saturday as the field plays out for all final placings. The women will play at least twice, and will play all four days if the team should win its opening-round dual.

The MSU Denver women (10-11) played Dominican (9-6) in Fresno, Calif., on March 22 and dropped a 4-2 decision. The Roadrunners won the doubles point, but lost closely contested singles matches at No. 1 and No. 3.

The Roadrunners' men (9-11) lost 6-1 at Azusa Pacific (19-0) on March 15.
