This Week in Roadrunners Athletics

DENVER — It's an action packed week in MSU Denver Roadrunners Athletics with baseball, softball, tennis, track and field, and golf all set to compete over the next six days.

DENVER — It's an action packed week in MSU Denver Roadrunners Athletics with baseball, softball, tennis, track and field, and golf all set to compete over the next six days. 

Baseball and softball will be the two programs at home over the weekend, with softball set to play six games while baseball is scheduled for four games at the Assembly Athletic Complex.

BASEBALL
Friday, 3/21: MSU Denver vs. Colorado School of Mines (3 pm MT)
Saturday, 3/22: MSU Denver vs. Colorado School of Mines (Noon MT)
Saturday, 3/22: MSU Denver vs. Colorado School of Mines (3 pm MT)
Sunday, 3/23: MSU Denver vs. Colorado School of Mines (Noon MT)

Head coach Ryan Strain and his team are coming off 1-2 weekend up in South Dakota, where they took on No. 19 ranked Augustana. It was their final non-conference series of the season and will now head back into RMAC play this weekend. The team is 9-13 and 1-3 in conference play thus far. 

Southpaw Nolan Livsey earned RMAC Pitcher of the Week honors after he propelled the Roadrunners to their lone win against the Vikings. He tossed six innings, allowing just one earned run on three hits while striking out four. MSU Denver won the game by a score of 7-4.

Annie Van Wetzinga has led her squad to a four-game winning streak, after taking care of business against Chadron State most recently. The Roadrunners have won 13 of their last 14 and currently sit at second place in the RMAC standings with a 21-7 (16-3 RMAC) overall record. 

Jenna Medhus is coming off a monster weekend both at the plate and in the circle, going 9-for-13 including four home runs. She also threw a complete game in the second contest against Chadron, allowing just three runs and earning the win.

Head coach Bruno Campos has both his tennis programs sitting at a 6-7 record, with each squad set to play at least six matches over the next week in California. The men have won their last two matches, and are 2-0 in the Pac West. The women have dropped their last three and will look to bounce back this weekend with their first conference matches on deck. 

WOMEN'S GOLF
Sunday/Monday, 3/23-3/24: Southern Colorado Open 

The Roadrunners return to Colorado this coming week after a successful two tournaments played in Arizona. They had their best finish of the season during the SMSU Classic, finishing third while going +81 as a unit. 

MSU Denver was led by Ainsley Stover (+18) and Callie Burns (+18) who both placed fifth individually. They ended with a score +11 after playing on Monday, and each went +7 in round two to climb up 21 spots in the rankings. 

TRACK AND FIELD 
Friday/Saturday, 3/21-3/22: Dan Caprioglio Invitational 

Outdoor season has arrived and head coach Janis Christopher will have both of her teams headed to Pueblo this weekend for the Dan Caprioglio Invitational. 

The indoor season saw three MSU Denver Roadrunners (Kenny Greene, Isaiah WilliamsMaya Ries) named South Central All-Region honorees for the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field season, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced.
