LUBBOCK, Texas -- The Roadrunners women's tennis team defeated Emporia State 4-3 to start off their Texas road trip off on the right foot.

Despite losing the doubles point to the Hornets, the women's team was able to rally with four wins during the singles competition.
In No. 1 singles, Hanna Haber battled in a hard-fought first set to sneak out with the 7-6 first set win and then carried that momentum into the second set winning 6-2.
Kim Heddes went three sets in No. 2 singles. She took the first set 6-4, before dropping the second set 6-4. But the junior buckled down and came out with the 7-5 set three victory.
