@MSUDenverVB: Anderson Named Regional Player of the Year by AVCA and D2CCA

DENVER - MSU Denver senior outside hitter Riley Anderson has been named as the NCAA South Central Region Player of the Year by the AVCA and the D2CCA.

DENVER - MSU Denver senior outside hitter Riley Anderson has been named as the NCAA South Central Region Player of the Year by the AVCA and the D2CCA. 

Anderson was previously named as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Player of the Year and earned the RMAC Tournament Most Valuable Player. She has tallied 340 kills with a .301 hitting percentage. Anderson also racked up 168 digs, and 65 blocks. 

Annika Helf and Kryssa Moerman were also named to the AVCA All-Region First Team. Helf has 277 kills to go along with 39 service aces on the season. Moerman has 118 total blocks on the season including 11 solo blocks and assisting 107 blocks. She also holds a hitting percentage of .391. 

Alyssa Boyte and Maddy Williams rounded out the MSU Denver honorees with the pair being named as Honorable Mention in the AVCA awards.  .

MSU Denver finished the conference season with a perfect 14-0 record and holds an overall record of 27-2. 

The Roadrunners will compete in the NCAA Tournament beginning with a first-round matchup with Texas Woman's University on Friday, December 6 in San Angelo, Texas. Match time is set for 11 a.m. CST.
