@MSUDenverVB: No. 4 Roadrunners earn 24th-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament

DENVER – The No. 4-ranked Roadrunners are heading back to the NCAA Tournament after learning they had earned the three seed in the South Central Region.

DENVER – The No. 4-ranked Roadrunners are heading back to the NCAA Tournament after learning they had earned the three seed in the South Central Region.

It is the 24th consecutive year that MSU Denver has reached the NCAA Division II National Tournament.

After winning the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament, the Roadrunners earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

As the three seed, they will take on Texas Women's, the six seed out of the Lone Star Conference.

"While we weren't sure where we were going to finish between one and three, we are excited to be in the tournament and excited to continue our season," Head coach Jenny Glenn said on learning her team's fate.

Angelo State earned the region's top seed after upsetting West Texas A&M in the Lone Star Conference Tournament. The Rambelles will host the South Central Regional in San Angelo, Texas on December 6, 7 and 8.

"Of course, we always love to host the regional here at home, but it will be nice to go someplace new and go in as the underdog," Coach Glenn said.

MSU Denver last played in San Angelo in the NCAA Tournament during the 2017 season, where they reached the regional final before falling to the host team Angelo State. The Roadrunners are 5-0 against Texas Woman's with the last meeting coming in 1997.

The Roadrunners sport five seniors, who have been through four and five regional tournaments.

"We're motivated," Senior setter Delaney Eckhardt said on getting prepared for the big dance. "We have gotten there before and haven't gotten the results, so winning the RMAC Tournament is going to propel us forward, and motivating us for this next step."

"We're staying on mission," Senior libero Abbie McCrimmon said. "We're going to stay focused, we're not going to get distracted by anything and from here on out, it's one game at a time.

"It's no easy road, but our goals are big and we have to put in the work here in the next week." Glenn said.
