- May 19–20Equitable Writing Pedagogies WorkshopThe ways faculty members approach writing, assignments, grading, notes and language in general matter. To bring more critical awareness of these practices, faculty members can learn about antiracist and antiablist writing pedagogy by signing up for “Equitable Writing Pedagogies Workshop.” It can seem overwhelming to overhaul everything about your writing instruction, but don’t worry: you don’t have to do it all at once! You can start small and rethink one little bit of your writing instruction. Or, if you’re feeling ambitious, you can do a major overhaul. Take the first step by learning about equitable writing pedagogy and having dedicated time to revamp a syllabus, an assignment, a rubric, or a whole class by signing up for the Writing Center’s workshop. The two-day workshop will be held on May 19 & 20 and will provide participants an opportunity to think critically about writing in their classrooms. It will also give participants dedicated time to revamp a syllabus, an assignment, a rubric or a whole class. Participants will have the summer to make changes, small or large, to their writing instruction and will present their work at a showcase in September (date TBD). Interested faculty can sign up here by Friday, April 11: forms.gle…. Space is limited to 20 participants, so sign up soon! Participating faculty will earn a $500 stipend for their work on both days.
