Many of our students have real-world experiences that could translate into course credit. MSU Denver offers students the option to complete Prior Learning Assessments (PLA) through a compiled portfolio, where we determine if their experiences meet the standards of our classes. Would you like to learn what this process is and how to help students gain course credit in this manner?<br> <br>The PLA process fits perfectly with the MSU Denver Mission and helps meet students where they are to complete their programs and graduate in a timely manner. It is a cost effective way to help students succeed. The process is not as difficult or time-consuming as you think!<br><br>Led by Rebecca Trammell and Allison Lemmertz

Accessibility Bytes: Neurodiversity and UDL
Accessibility Bytes are 30-minute virtual workshops run by the Instructional Accessibility Group in the CTLD to briefly discuss proactive accessibility with regard to instruction and provide guidance and information about accessibility and disability within the MSU Denver culture. This session discusses how applying Universal Design for Learning (UDL) helps build inclusive classes for all students, and specifically how the principles can help neurodiverse students.

WITS (Write It This Semester)
Who? Faculty of any type as well as any staff who want to get a significant amount of writing done in the fall. What? A sit-down-and-write group, also known as a shut-up-and-write group, made possible by Faculty Affairs, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, and the CTLD. The first 20-30 minutes will feature goal-setting, accountability, and productivity exercises and discussions. The last 90 minutes (MINIMUM) will be us writing. That’s right (write!): participants will write on their own projects, supported and inspired by the writing of others. When? Thursday afternoons from 2-4, beginning 8/29 and continuing through 12/5 Where? The kick-off will be on 8/29 in the CTLD with remote participation possible. All meetings will be hybrid, so you can show up in person or online. Why? Tons of research on writing productivity supports the idea that writing in community (also known as body doubling) is a powerful strategy for getting more writing dwone. You’ll get accountability and a sense of shared purpose.
