Voting Now Open for Rowdy Awards
DENVER – Voting is underway for the 2019 Rowdy Awards.
This is the chance for the public to vote for award winners from the past academic year for MSU Denver athletics.
Awards based on voting will be presented for: Best Offensive Performance, Best Defensive Performance, Best Trick Shot, Newcomer of the Year and The Rowdy Award.

Voting closes Sunday at midnight, and the awards will be announced April 30.
Among the nominees are:
Best Offensive Performance: Kyle VanAlstine, men's soccer (bicycle kick goal); Jaelynn Smith, women's basketball (triple-double); Draven Adame, baseball (hit for the cycle with school-record eight RBIs); Jonalyn Wittwer, women's basketball (conference and Division II records while making 11 3s in a game); Sabrina Rautter (All-American in cross country).
Best Defensive Performance: Logan Soole, baseball (crashes the wall while making catch); Megan Sansburn, softball (diving catch to end rally); Erica Torres, women's soccer (spectacular save vs. Colorado Christian); Alyssa Kelling, volleyball (nine blocks vs. Colorado Christian); Jaryn Taylor, men's basketball (five blocked shots on Senior Night).
Newcomer of the Year: Druce Asah, men's basketball; Rebecca Gonzales, softball; Jaime Gutierrez, men's soccer; Matt Malkin, baseball; Nick Nowlen, men's track & field.
The Rowdy Award, dedicated to everything it means to represent the Roadrunners on and off the field of competition: Draven Adame, baseball; Jaelynn Smith, women's basketball; Joey Tscherne, men's tennis; Erica Ruiz, women's cross country and track & field; Jacob Coking, men's soccer; Taylor Duryea, volleyball.
