Roadrunners Athletics Thanks Supporters for Day of Giving Success
DENVER – MSU Denver Athletics is thrilled to announce that it raise $98,450 on April 11 as part of the campus' overall Day of Giving.
The Roadrunners' athletics teams thank everyone for their support.
"The MSU Denver Day of Giving, and the Athletics Giving Challenge, was once again an outstanding success," said Todd Thurman, director of athletics. "I can't thank everyone who contributed enough. Our sports combined for over 850 donors and raised almost $100,000. These fundraising efforts are vital to the success of Roadrunners Athletics."
Day of Giving Challenge winners for MSU Denver Athletics were the women's soccer team (275 donors), women's golf team (257) and the strength & conditioning program (71). The team raising the most money was men's basketball, with $21,363.
Though the Day of Giving has ended, fans can still donate at any time.
MSU Denver has an astounding history of athletic success – including four NCAA Division II national championships – but still awards only 65 percent of the scholarships that are allowed per NCAA rule. Roadrunners Athletics relies upon a dedicated team of supporters, committed to the success of student-athletes both in the classroom and on the field of play. Any gift, of any amount, directly impacts the lives of students-athletes, of which there are well over 200 at MSU Denver.
