DENVER – Men's and women's basketball highlight the Thanksgiving weekend.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
MSU Denver at Seattle Pacific, Friday, 3:15 p.m. PST.
MSU Denver vs Saint Martin's, Saturday, 1 p.m. PST.
The MSU Denver women's basketball team is continuing its long stretch of road games in the Pacific Northwest this weekend. The team will take on Seattle Pacific and Saint Martin's in the SPU Thanksgiving Tournament. Junior Mikylah Espinosa leads the Roadrunners in scoring, averaging 12.3 points per game. Senior Jackie Pippett is second in points scored, averaging 9.3 points per game, and she also leads the team in rebounds with 5.5. The Roadrunners will look to break their four-game losing streak as they head west this holiday weekend.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
Saint Martin's vs MSU Denver, Friday, 3 p.m.
Northern New Mexico vs MSU Denver, Saturday, 3 p.m.
The MSU Denver men's basketball team is back home this week to host the Thanksgiving Classic, where it will take on #17 Saint Martin's and Northern New Mexico before heading into conference play. The Roadrunners experienced their first loss of the season last week, falling to Eastern New Mexico on the road 93-84, but look to bounce back against the nationally-ranked Saints. Senior Caleb McGill is averaging a double-double with 14.0 points per game and 10.3 rebounds per game, while three other Roadrunners are averaging double-digits in the scoring column: Brayden Carter (15.3), Jamil Safieddine (11.5), and Quave Propst-Allison (10.5).
