MSU Denver Athletics Names Tanner Kay Director of Athletic Communications
DENVER — MSU Denver's Director of Athletics Todd Thurman has announced the hiring of Tanner Kay as Director of Athletic Communications effective immediately.
Kay comes to Denver after working in the University of Colorado Boulder athletics communications office for the past two years. Prior to that, Kay spent nine months at Ottawa Arizona in Phoenix, serving as the assistant director of communications there. Kay also served as a sports information director specialist at the University of Arizona in his four years as a student.
While in Boulder, he served as the interim primary contact for volleyball and lacrosse in 2023-24, while spending time as a secondary contact for XC/TF during the 2024-25 season. Kay also coordinated with football communications during the last two seasons.
In his short stint at Ottawa Arizona, Kay served as the primary contact for baseball, women's basketball, men's & women's swim & dive and tennis programs. He also oversaw football, men's basketball, softball, men's volleyball and women's beach volleyball as a secondary contact.
Kay earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona in Business Management in 2022.
