    <strong>Auraria Creates</strong><br>An annual celebration of campus scholarship and creativity.<br>We invite our community to join us:<br><br><strong>April 21: Faculty Spotlight</strong><br>Faculty Presentations: 11:00 am<br>Reception: 1:30 pm<br><br>FREE at the Auraria Library, Room 116<br>Light refreshments provided<br><br>Open to all MSU Denver, CU Denver, and Community College of Denver faculty, staff, and students and community members<br><br>No RSVP required<br><br><strong>Featured Presenters</strong><br><br><strong>Jasmine Harris</strong>, professor and chair of Africana studies, MSU Denver: Black Women, Ivory Tower: Revealing the Lies of White Supremacy in American Education, her pioneering book exploring what it means to be a Black woman in higher education.<br><br><strong>Elizabeth Pugliano</strong>, senior instructor of visual arts, CU Denver: History, Practice and Pedagogy: Empathic Engagements in the Visual Arts, an anthology co-edited by Pugliano, explores historical, practical, and pedagogical empathy through works of art.<br><br><strong>Dennis Rudnick</strong>, assistant professor of elementary education, MSU Denver: On how “divide and conquer” strategies operate in the U.S. public education system.<br><br><strong>Sandy Guinn</strong>, professor of art, CCD: My Sketchpad, her recently published resource to help students overcome barriers to extemporaneous drawing and creativity.
