- Apr 3011:00 AMCEL 101 and Making the Shift: Navigating the Transition to Community Engaged LearningJoin us for "CEL 101: What Does the Name Change Mean for Faculty?" a comprehensive workshop designed to navigate the transition from Service Learning (SL) to Community Engaged Learning (CEL). This session will help faculty understand what CEL is, how it differs from SL, and the implications of this transition for courses and teaching. Key takeaways include understanding the updated Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs), how CEL fits into existing courses, and strategies for updating syllabi and Curriculog forms for CEL designation. Faculty will have the opportunity to review case studies of CEL courses, discuss alignment with the new model, and start making live edits to their course materials with support from the CEL team. Interactive Components: Faculty will review a short case study of a CEL course to understand its alignment with new models. Hands-on session for faculty to update their syllabi and Curriculog forms, with live support from the CEL team.
