- 1:00 PM1h 30mAcademic Skills Workshop Series (Translating Academic Skills into Workplace Success--and Vice Versa!)It can be easy to think of being a “working student” solely in terms of the challenges of balancing so many competing demands as a student, employee, and all the other roles many MSU Denver students hold. However, skills gained in the workplace –whether on-campus work or off-campus—can actually promote student success in the classroom. Similarly, the skills that help students succeed as students can also make them better employees. In this workshop, students will gain an appreciation for how being a working student can be beneficial, enrich their resume, provide professional and personal development, and otherwise be an asset both in the classroom and workplace!

- 7:30 PM2hPIPELINE (play) by Dominique Morisseau(Play) Nya, an inner-city public high school teacher, is committed to her students but desperate to give her only son Omari opportunities they’ll never have. When a controversial incident at his upstate private school threatens to get him expelled, Nya must confront his rage and her own choices as a parent. But will she be able to reach him before a world beyond her control pulls him away? With profound compassion and lyricism, Pipeline brings an urgent conversation powerfully to the fore. Morisseau pens a deeply moving story of a mother’s fight to give her son a future — without turning her back on the community that made him who he is.
